As NASA’s Mars rover stalls out on Mars, China and Russia proceed with their own plans to undertake a joint mission to Mars. China’s space program, rapidly growing over the past several decades, signed an official partnership with Russian Prime Minister Vladamir Putin in 2009. Now, in 2011 they make good on their pact and will launch a Chinese designed satellite into orbit around Mars in late 2011. Read more on
